Although water is a renewable resource, it is also a finite one. Only 2.53 percent of earth’s water is fresh, and two-thirds of that is locked up in glaciers and permanent snow cover. But despite the very real danger of future global water shortages, for the vast majority of the nearly one billion people without safe drinking water, today’s water crisis is not an issue of scarcity, but of access.

In 2010, Water.org made a promise to the people of Haiti that 50,000 people would gain access to safe water. Like other projects Water.org takes part in, it only takes $25 to change one life forever through the provision of water. By taking this challenge, I am making a difference for at least ten people. People who will now be able to spend less time gathering unsafe water and more time living their lives. With your help, we're building the future together where everyone has safe water and a toilet.
