Skyler Doing Good!

Skyler Johnson

Hello! Hola! Ni Hao! Mambo! Salaam Alekum! Hoi! Salut! My name is Skyler Johnson and I am ALMOST 9 years old! I hope you can make it to my birthday party at the George Washington Carver Museum on January 26th!

I go to Blanco Vista Elementary School school in San Marcos and I like a lot of different things- history, science, geology, coin collecting, music (piano, djembe/djun djun African drums) and Wushu kung fu. I love finding old things and discovering different dates in history. I hope to travel around the world to study different cultures and find unique coins and artifacts. I may even find something that I can one day exhibit in a museum!

My mom and I heard that one of our friends Mae and her ComeDrumForFun drummers are using their drums to DO GOOD and help those in need. What a cool idea! So, this year I'd like to use my birthday to DO GOOD too!!!

So, instead of a Birthday present, could you help me bring clean water to some poor people in Africa, Asia, South America and Haiti? ANY AMOUNT will help! I would like to raise at least $75 - that would be enough to bring clean water to THREE people for LIFE!!!!

Can you imagine not having fresh water? OMG! Can you imagine not having a toilet? Did you know, that kids like me and even younger spend millions of hours each day fetching water? This means that they can't go to school, or play and they get sick all the time because the water is dirty. In fact, every 20 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease? AND did you know that if you multiply the US population by 3, you get the the number of people in the world who don't have clean water! SO SAD!

Please help me spread the word about water.org by telling your friends, and please celebrate my birthday with me, by helping me help others!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
