Swim, Bike, Run, Do Good
Flying home for Christmas in 2011 I was reading a Triathlete magazine and saw a short article about Team Water.org. Team Water.org is a built around really simple philosophy, have endurance athletes race for a cause by matching a race entry in races they have already entered. Money is not being spent on a race entry, travel to races, or anything for me.
As soon as I read this, I knew I needed to sign up for Team Water.org. Safe water is something I know I take for granted on a daily basis. It is easy to take for granted you can easily find water 50 miles away from home on a training ride.
The problem is enormous but we can make a difference. One in eight people don't have safe water meaning each morning they scavenge to survive. Lack of safe water and sanitation impacts a family's health, keeps children from getting an education, and traps millions in a cycle of poverty.
For only $25 Water.org can get someone safe water for life. Water.org has been helping people get sustainable solutions for over twenty years. We can make a difference in the world, we can help change someone's life.
I'm racing my first Ironman triathlon this year. The Ironman consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run (yes I'm crazy).
My goal is to fundraise $1,000.
Please consider donating 1 dollar, quarter, dime or nickel for every mile I'll cover in the race I'll be doing this year $140.60 (dollar), $35.15 (quarter) $14.06 (dime), $7.03 (nickel) or any amount to help me reach my goal and provide safe water around the world.
Thank You.
