Dear Newark Community,

The third graders at Legend Elementary are raising money to help provide people with water around the world. Below is a persusasive letter written by a few of the third graders!

                             April 25, 2014

Dear Newark Community,

Lack of water causes lots of diseases. Women also spend a lot of time trying to save their family. Please read on to know why you should donate water.org.

First off, a lot of children pass away. Every 21 seconds a child dies from a water related illness. Six years ago every 15 seconds a child died from a water related illness. That means the problem is getting better, but is not solved!

Secondly, women have a big responsibility. Women spend 200 million hours a day collecting water. Surveys from US developing countries show that women have the primary responsibility for carrying water. In many countries women are responsible for finding and fetching water for their families.

Now you know why to donate to save the life’s of children in danger. Its only seconds till they pass away. You can make a difference by buying a drop for 25 cents.
