A few years ago my son Remy woke me up during the night simply asking for a drink of water. For those of you who are parents I'm sure you can relate, this is not out of the ordinary, but as I went to the kitchen to grab him a cup of cold water the Lord spoke to my heart so clearly. For so many mothers this short walk to grab a drink of clean water for their child was not possible. What if you had to say no to your thirsty child? What if clean, healthy drinking water was difficult, if not impossible to get to?
Every 90 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease, and diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of death for children under the age of five worldwide. The problem is enormous but solutions are available. Kids with access to safe water are healthier and can attend school regularly.
For this fundraiser though water.org there are currently $20,000 in matching funds up for grabs. Please support my mission to help make the changes needed to provide clean water to everyone in need. The water crisis is something I know we can help solve together, and now we can take advantage of this match to do twice the good.
