Positive Activism has paired up with Water.Org to organize a month long fundraising project. For the entire month of September we will be campaigning to raise money for this cause. Using a mere $25 water.org can change a life and supply that person with clean water for life. Our goal for our fundraiser is a mere $1,000 which will help give 40 people the same privilege most of us have enjoyed from birth. Here are a few talking points that water.org has provided us. Keep in mind that there are literally libraries worth of information on the devastating effects that unsanitary conditions can have on communities and sometimes entire nations.

More people on the planet have a cell phone than have access to a toilet and over a billion people lack no way to flush away yesterday's meal at all. Lack of safe water and sanitation impacts a family's health, keeps children from getting an education, and traps millions in a cycle of poverty.

At any given time, half of the world's hospital beds are occupied by patients suffering from diseases associated with lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate sanitation, or poor hygiene. More people die each year from unsafe water than from wars.

In just one day, more than 200 million hours of women's time is wasted simply collecting water for domestic use. Every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related disease and diarrhea remains the second leading cause of death of children under the age of five.

The problem is enormous but we can make a difference. One in eight people don't have safe water meaning each morning they scavenge to survive.

Even one of these bullet points should be enough to raise thousands of dollars for those without clean water. However the facts are undeniable and abundant. PLEASE, help us over at Positive Activism do something incredible for these people. Help us keep the cycle of love going by giving anything. A penny, a nickle, a dollar WHATEVER! Any amount, not matter how small, will help us reach our goal.

I cannot tell you how much this project means to us, and I cannot even imagine how much it means to these people. We know that many of the people that will read this will be tight on money (we certainly are right now), but that doesn't mean we can't go without one meal this week in order to help better these people's lives forever.
