Hey everyone, I'm taking a Sociology class at NC State University, and part of the class calls for me to do a bit of community service related to my research topic for the semester. Because I chose access to water in the developing world--an issue that matters to me a great deal--I can hardly go down the street and help out. So instead, I've decided to do a small fund raiser. If we raise 100 dollars, we can ensure access to clean water for 8 people. It's not saving the world, but it sure gets us a step closer. Below is Water.Org's general information.

Around the world, 780 million men, women and children need access to safe water. This negatively impacts their health, keeps children from attending school, and traps millions of people in a cycle of poverty. This all changes when solutions to access safe water are implemented.

I know there are a lot of worthy charities out there. I’ve created my own fundraiser for Water.org because I believe safe water is necessary for life. The water crisis is something I feel I can help solve. I hope you agree by giving whatever amount you can to support my efforts.

For every $25 that I raise, Water.org can give someone access to safe water for life. Co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org has been helping people develop sustainable solutions for more than 20 years. Together, we can change lives with safe water.
