Can you imagine walking for miles to have just 1 glass of safe water? COULD YOU CALL IT LIFE? This is the heartbreaking truth for millions of families around the world. Women spend more than 200 million hours daily to collect and carry water back home. 780 million humans lack access to a safe water source and every minute at least 1 child dies from a water-related illness. 3.4 million people die from unsanitary water every year and 99% occur in the developing countries.
I drink a lot of water and know how short-lived my (your) life would be without this very basic human right. How would you feel knowing that your own child has to walk every day for miles to collect and carry a bucket of water to survive and support the family?
This might seem unimaginable in your life but that child still imagines there is hope. Every single human life on this earth is precious to me. Please become apart of this hope and join me raise 5K to provide 200 human beings with safe water for life.
This topic is always on my mind. I decided to create my own fundraiser (at water.org) and join Matt Damon and Gary White who have co-founded Water.org and helped develop sustainable solutions for over 20 years. We can fight this enormous problem together and empower families in poverty by creating access to clean water sources close by to improve their futures.
Let’s GIVE WATER because we can.
Thank you,
Seli Marset
