HI All - I will be competing in the London Triathlon 2014 in the Olympic Plus distance (1500m swim, 80k cycling, 10k run). Although, I got my spot without having to go via charity; I still felt the need to use this opportunity to give back. This is such a basic need that many of us take for granted. Please help me raise funds for a great cause. If you do not believe in charities etc. please visit the Water.org website. From what I can see they are one of the most transparent charities out there.
Background info: Every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water-related disease, and diarrhea remains the second leading cause of death of children under the age of five worldwide. The problem is enormous but solutions are available. Kids with access to safe water are healthier and can attend school regularly.
I know there are a lot of worthy charities out there. I’ve created my own fundraiser for Water.org because I believe safe water is necessary for life. The water crisis is something I feel I can help solve. I hope you agree by giving whatever amount you can to support my efforts.
For every $25 that I raise, Water.org can give someone access to safe water for life. Co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org has been helping people develop sustainable solutions for more than 20 years. Together, we can change lives with safe water.
Send an email inviting everyone you know to give water. Remember to share your story and why you are passionate about raising funds to change lives with safe water.
Post one of these graphics on Facebook or Twitter. Tag Water.org so we can see what you’re up to and cheer you on.
Not ready to donate? You can still make a big impact by sharing one of these.
