Benjamin Franklin once said, “When the well is dry, we know the worth of water.” I was touched by recently learning that the well is really dry for 345 million people in Africa, and that woman and children must walk for 3 hours a day to just fetch a sip! The time Africa loses alone per year just collecting water equates to a year's worth of labor by the entire workforce in France! Besides time, every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water-related disease, and diarrhea remains the second leading cause of death of children under the age of five worldwide. Access to safe/clean water in Africa will change lives by allowing children to be healthy and women to channelize their time on education, work, and caring for their families.
I hope you agree by giving whatever amount you can to support my efforts.
For every $25 that I raise, Water.org can give someone access to safe water for life. Together, we can help to make a difference in 10 lives by June 27th, 2014. Thank you!
