Imagine if you had to walk a few miles instead of a few feet for a glass of water. This is the reality for millions of women and girls. Collectively, women spend more than 200 million hours every day walking and collecting water for domestic use. When women gain access to water they are healthier and have more time for education, work and raising their families, making a proportionally bigger impact to their society.
We know there are a lot of worthy charities out there, including the very worthy ALS bucket challenge which has had huge success. Our family chose Water.org because we believe safe water is necessary for life.
