I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for water.org, helping to solve the once thought to be insurmountable water crises.

Imagine if you had to walk a few miles instead of a few feet for a glass of water. This is the reality for millions of women and girls. Collectively, women spend more than 182 million hours every day walking and collecting water for domestic use. When women gain access to water they are healthier and have more time for education, work and raising their families.

3.4 million people die each year due to water related diseases. The only way we can solve this problem is by expanding innovative financial solutions like water credit. Water credit allows people who want access to safe water to pay for it at a affordable rate, while attracting capital from financial institutions to provide the loans.

I believe safe water is necessary for life and something that many of us take for granted on a daily basis.

For every $25 that I raise, Water.org can give someone access to safe water. Co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org has been helping people develop sustainable solutions for more than 20 years. Together, we can change lives with safe water.
