Cooper in drinking water (Mongolia)

I heard from my grandmother, who lives in the most density populated district of capital Ulaanbaatar, that the fetching water containing cooper. Since then, I and my friends have started to research this problem. The difficulty fetched water contains cooper is the heart of the problem. In not boiled water copper is less contained than in boiled water.

As we were visiting our friends, we have learned following. The water from the tap

( groundwater) is dirty and is not suitable for drinking. All living organisms including humans need copper to survive; therefore, a trace amount of copper in our diet is necessary for good health. However, some forms of copper or excess amounts can also cause health problems. High levels of copper can cause digestive disorders such as nau- sea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramps.Heating or boiling your water will not remove copper. Because some of the water evaporates during the boiling process, the copper concentrations can actually increase slightly as the water is boiled.

It is important to start an action to educate the people that they drinking copper-containing water. After receiving the required financing we will supply households with low-income with water filter. In addition, 8 volunteers will educate the citizens about benefits of walter filter. If our funding target is not reached, we will supply as many households as possible with water filter pursuant to financial scope.

This theme was not discussed in public. This problem exists even where the water pipe is maid from copper. Through our film we will to reach following: - on the publich taps are installed water filter
