Elijah's Birthday Fundraiser

I decided to start raising money for Water.org, because I believe safe water is necessary for life, and there are 663 million people around the world without it. Access to safe water can change a person’s world, and allow them to define their own future.

Every 90 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease, and diarrhea remains one of the leading causes of death for children under the age of five worldwide. The problem is enormous but solutions are available. Kids with access to safe water are healthier and can attend school regularly.

Now, imagine if you had to walk miles for a glass of water. This is the reality for millions of women and children. Collectively, women and children spend 125 million hours every day walking and collecting water for domestic use. When women and children gain access to water they are healthier and have more time for education, work and raising their families.

I know there are a lot of worthy charities out there. I’ve created my own fundraiser for Water.org because I believe safe water is necessary for life. The water crisis is something I feel I can help solve. I hope you agree by giving whatever amount you can to support my efforts.

For every $25 that I raise, Water.org can give someone access to safe water for life. Co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White, Water.org has been helping people develop sustainable solutions for more than 25 years. Together, we can change lives with safe water.

That's why I've decided to ask for donations to water.org in place of birthday gifts this year. Please join me in raising funds to help ensure more people can enjoy the same access to clean water that we do.

Thank you, Elijah
