How much thought on a daily basis do you give to how easy it is to get a glass of clean drinking water when you’re thirsty? Or how simple it is to find a toilet when you need to go?

I will admit that for me, not all that much.

Unfortunately, around the world, MILLIONS of people and families don’t have that same access to safe water and sanitation. 785 million people – about 1 in 9 – lack access to safe water. 2 billion people – 1 in 3 – lack access to a toilet.

This movement, this need, struck a chord with us because we can’t visualize ourselves and our children in a situation where safe water simply isn’t available or is so far away that it takes countless hours and miles on foot to reach it, taking children out of school, mothers away from their families, only to be unfairly price gouged when finally purchasing water.

Without safe drinking water and sanitation, these families face increased risk of disease, higher child and maternal mortality rates, lower education thresholds, limited economic opportunity, and frankly, less time for kids to just be kids and play.

This is not a free handout - these families are invested in making a better future for themselves with access to affordable loans. They just need help to realize it.

Just $12.50 helps 1 person access safe water and sanitation. Through the month of August, we are setting a goal of helping 10 people per day.
