Hello, my name is Lexi Golding, I am finishing up my sophomore year at Highland Park Highschool. This past year has been extremely difficult and I wanted nothing more than to spread some positivity and help others. As my 16th birthday is approaching, I decided to fundraise for a cause that I feel is very important, “Water.org” Having clean water is a privilege that many of us take for granted. Clean water affects so many, for example, “Today, 785 million people – 1 in 9 – lack access to safe water.” and “Nearly 1 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related diseases”. 266 million women spend hours every day in search of clean water rather than working, getting an education, or spending time taking care of family. These unfortunate statistics are the reason why I have made it my mission to raise $500 in order to provide 100 people with access to clean water. I am asking my friends and family to donate to this organization in place of any gifts for my birthday. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope for your support in my mission. Take a look at their website for some more information; “Water.org” Please forward this to anyone you think would have an interest.
